Women’s Armpits Carry The Sweet, Sweet Aroma of Onions

There’s nothing like the smell of some good savory food cooking up on the stove after a long, hard day. It’s another thing when that savory food smell is cooking up under your clothes.
With that said, new research in Switzerland found that women’s armpits actually smell like onions. There’s some science-y chemical processes involved, but the fact of the matter is we’re one step away from being a walking Bloomin’ Onion.

The scientists took sweat samples from 25 women and 24 men after they had either been in a sauna or on an exercise bike. The results? Dinner.
While women gave off odors akin to onions, men smelled more like cheese, which people supposedly prefer.
The research will be used to develop specific deodorants, but not everyone’s buying the findings. Some suggest the difference may have less to do with sex and more to do with the participants being Swiss.
You know those Swiss, always going around smelling like a diner in its very, very off hours.
