If You Didn’t Already Know Men Dominate Advertising

Jezebel brought my attention to the vintage ad above. As they said, this lipstick ad will definitely blow you away.
I’m hardly a feminist, but really? It’s an ad for lipstick, so it’s safe to assume it’s targeted towards women. I’ll ask again, really?
If Mad Men wasn’t proof enough, clearly advertising is a male-centric industry.
Okay, so the ad above is “vintage.” But that doesn’t mean much has changed. I have to believe this ad from the past year was created by a man despite being a tampon commercial:

The company got so many complaints of sexism it had to issues apologies and $15 off coupons. Sexism or not (that’s in the eye of the beholder), it’s pretty clear this wasn’t the work of a chick.
