Bikini Blues: N.J. May Ban Brazilian Waxes

The allure of spring just got a little less alluring in New Jersey. The Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling is considering banning genital waxing. Bye, bye Brazilians and hello bushy bikini lines.
The state claims the waxing of anything besides the face, neck, stomach, legs and arms is already illegal, but salons and spas have just selectively ignored this rule and the government has ignored the ignoring. That’s changed now that two women have ruined it for the rest of us by filing a complain with the board after injuries sustained during the hair removal process.

The bright spot in this dire situation is the rampant puns taking over the news. Many salons are worried about “profits being shaved” if this “ban sticks” creating a “hairy situation.”
Not to beat around the bush (two can play at this game), but New Jersey might want to reconsider this one. Perhaps the Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling should battle it out with the Travel and Tourism Board. Something tells me if the ban takes effect the Jersey shore might not be as popular this season.
