Faux Fun: Six Fake Orgasms in Pop Culture

Meg Ryan Fake Orgasm

It’s a shame, but it’s true: Women fake it all the time. Every guy likes to think their sack sessions are the steamiest, their moves the sexiest and their women the most satisfied. And, on the rare occasion when she’s not so pleased, they like to think they’d know. Most of the time, they’re wrong.

It’s not all their fault though. Many women have the art of faking it down to a science. They’ve perfected the moans and practiced the facial expressions so much so that men are left clueless. However, it shouldn’t be a mystery. Article after article talks about these fake orgasms: How to spot them, how to do them and how not to have to do them.

The fake orgasm is everywhere.

These six scenes* give a glimpse of the groans in pop culture:

1. When Harry Met Sally

You can’t mention the words “fake orgasm” without saying Meg Ryan in the same sentence.

2. Frasier

Daphne

On that note, in the Shrink Rap episode, the darling Daphne does her best Meg Ryan impression.

3. Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion

For guys, what’s the next best thing to having sex with a hot girl? Having said girl fake an orgasm while your friends listen in. Romy willingly obliges in exchange for a car to borrow.

4. Sex and the City

Miranda finally decides to stop faking it, but it doesn’t go over well. So, as a parting gesture for the guy, Miranda gives one last epic performance.

5. Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Club

Erin Moran

In a move that was more creepy than sexy, Erin Moran used a bus ride back from a bar as the perfect opportunity to show off her acting skills. Her teammates were not impressed.

6. Seinfeld

While I’m not sure the actual moaning made it on screen, much of the Mango episode focused on fake orgasms. Elaine faked it with Jerry so they had to have sex to save the friendship. The sex was so-so, but the mango…

*Unfortunately, YouTube doesn’t have them all, so descriptions will have to do.
