Fashion Flashback: Remembering Skorts

Skorts were the mullets of the fashion world: Pretty party skirt in the front and businessy shorts in the back. What other piece of clothing could pass for elegance, but allowed you the freedom to swing on the monkey bars worry-free. Plus, it ever so slightly reminded me of the charming utensil the spork.
But that was then.
Today, the skort has been cast off into clothing purgatory. It’s still technically around, many a golfer and tennis player sport the look, but it’s no longer mainstream. And I think I know why:

The classic jean skort.

Just what I always wanted: A lime green, awkward-lengthed skort.

I never had a skort quite like that.

Double flap action.
