Abercrombie & Fitch Chooses To Deny, Deny, Deny

When it comes to the economy, Abercrombie & Fitch is about as clueless as the models above look. As other stores slash prices and offer promotions, LFO’s favorite store has insisted on staying the course with its overpriced collared shorts and carefully torn jeans.
How’s that working out for them, you ask?
Well, A&F posted a 34 percent drop in same-stre sales from last year, making it the worst among retailers in March. How could that be for a store known for such inspiring T-shirts as this one:

I’m so glad young girls everywhere are finally moving on from this heart-warming brand. Admittedly, I was once that A&F girl. Though I did draw the line at the sexist slogan shirts, I coveted those completely plain yet must-have tank tops and nondescript skirts.
However, the high prices, generic style and head-pounding techno pushed me away in high school. Now, I mock them for their stupidity in the height of an economic crisis. But, I have to say, whenever I get a whiff of that strong Abercrombie perfume scent I still get a little nostalgic…
