Most girls (and human beings with a heart) melt in the presence of an adorable puppy. With that in mind, two guys decided to capitalize on this effect and conduct an experiment on what type of puppy is best at winning over girls. And thus the Puppy Pulling Power project was born.

The idea is that one of the guys would spend an hour at the park each with a different kind of puppy. The dog would have a camera attached to it that automatically takes a picture of someone when they smile into it. By the end of the allotted time, the guys could determine which puppy garnered the most smiles. The entire undertaking is documented in the video above.

The winner? The samoyed puppy raked in the most smiles. However, it was determined that the pug, which came in with the second most smiles, actually lured the more attractive girls. If that’s not a sound scientific process than I don’t know what is.

While I doubt the whole experiment is real (does that camera even exist?), the underlying principle isn’t too far off. Girls are generally powerless in the presence of a puppy. However, boys are right there with us. Ever see a guy passing an impossibly cute puppy? Yeah, he’s that big pile of mush right next to you.
