Having daughters doesn’t just reduce grown men to a pile of mush, but it also makes them into a liberal. We learned from The Frisky that a new study has found that parents who have daughters are more likely to swing Democrat than those that have sons.

Earlier research had shown that congressmen with female children vote more liberally on issues such as working families flexibility and tax-free education. This newer study expands upon that idea, stating that these results can be broadened to voting for entire parties. It likely is based on the fact that for parents with daughters, gender equality and reproductive rights hit closer to home, pushing them towards left-wing parties.

I can’t help but be a little skeptical though. For every Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, there seems to be a George Bush and Dick Cheney. Still, never doubt the power of a daddy’s girl.
