Cocktail of the Week: The Seersucker

It’s that time again… Cocktail of the Week. Because let’s be honest, the only thing you really care about on Friday afternoon is how quickly you can get some alcohol pumping through that overworked body. We’re here to help.
For those unaware, it’s a holiday weekend. No, no not Father’s Day… though that’s probably important to remember too. But, even better, today marks Senate Seersucker Day. This is the epic day when U.S. senators trade in their heavy suits for a more summer-friendly fabric.
Yes, this occasion gets its own holiday, and yes, it’s as good a reason to celebrate as any. Flor de Caña knows what we’re talking about. The rum brand has created a salute to the seersucker with the aptly named Seersucker cocktail.
So, if you know where to find cinnamon bark syrup, mix one up for yourself and drink to our dear old senators lightening up and getting just a little less sweaty.
Read on for the recipe.
The Seersucker
2 oz Flor de Caña white rum
1/2 oz cinnamon bark syrup
1 oz lemon juice
1 1/2 strawberry
Muddle one strawberry, shake ingredients with three ice cubes and strain into a pilsner glass with crushed ice. Garnish with ½ strawberry.
