Ten-Year-Old Girl Wins Worm Charming Competition

Saturday things got down and dirty in Willaston, Cheshire in the UK where the annual World Worm Charming Championships took place. Participants tried everything from playing music to the traditional method of sticking a garden fork in the ground and hitting it to cause vibrations in order to coax worms from the ground. In the end, though, it was 10-year-old Sophie Smith who won the day, bringing up a new world record of 567 worms.
Girl power?
