My Thoughts on the Billboard Top Ten

I always love checking out the Billboard top ten to see if I agree.  This week, I am not so pleased with a couple of the songs but a few of them I can’t get out of my head!  I love the Britney video, as she looks hot again.  Maybe you will feel the same way…

1. Empire State of Mind- Jay-Z and Alicia Keys

Jay-Z’s songs always have such great beats and the combination between his smooth flow and Alicia Keys’ beautiful voice make this song a great hit. He will always be a rap god to me. I’m not the biggest hiphop/rap fan but I always love his stuff. Alicia Keys is gorgeous and looks amazing in the video! And who doesn’t love New York?? ….”and the Jay-Z song was on, and the Jay-Z song was on…”-said Miley Cyrus

2. Lady Gaga- Bad Romance

I feel like Lady Gaga came out of no where. She has such a great sound that makes you just want to sing along. I love this song along with almost all of her other songs. I just don’t get her style, I guess she likes the shock factor of it. She also happens to dislike wearing pants…she should just be called “no pants”. Other than the way she looks, which is VERY scary at times, she’s great.

3. Tik Tok- Ke$ha

This song cracks me up although I don’t understand how it made #3. Sounds a little bit like the annoying song Le Disko by Shiny Toy Guns. This is one of those songs that you like the first couple times you hear it but after that you want to shoot yourself. I hope this doesn’t stay in the top 10 very long. Let alone be ranked #3!!

4. Replay- Iyaz

I’d like to ride in my car with the windows down with this blasting. He doesn’t sound like every other artist out there now. His lyrics also happen to be pretty sweet, a little cheesy, but sweet.

5. Fireflies- Owl City

I am a huge fan of this group and song. At first I thought it was Ben Gibbard from The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie, but I was wrong. They have a very similar sounding voice that is soothing to listen to. The whole album is actually really great and worth listening to.

6. Whatcha Say- Jason DeRulo

I heard this song for the first time watching Gossip Girl. I immediately went online to download it. It has such a great sound. I like the chorus the best. I will always love the original version “Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap but this is a great remake.

7. Sexy Chick- David Guetta Feat. Akon

First time I heard this, i loved it! Anything with David Guetta I generally like. Akon, not so much, but this song is great. They actually talk about respect in this song, which is SO rare these days!

8. Meet Me Halfway- Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas rule! I am so glad that Fergie is back and that they have a new album out. Their songs just keep getting better and better and are SO much fun to dance to! Especially with a drink in hand! Their performance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was unreal. I love them!

9. 3- Britney Spears

Britney has come a long way from the shaved head, attacking a car with an umbrella, and balancing her son and a cocktail in her hands. “3″ sounds like something my sorority would have used in a choreographed dance. She even has the counting down for the beats. Maybe the counting is part of her 12 step program though. Britney pretty much just announced to the world with this song that she likes threesomes….maybe even foursomes. Her children will be so proud when they grow up. Now that is CLASSY Brit! Keep up the good work; at least you’re hot again!

10. Down- Jay Sean Feat. Lil Wayne

I like the sound of this but it sounds like every other song out there these days. It is very catchy, but it bothers me that Lil Wayne talks about the economy…really buddy? Does the economy really effect you?? You use a machine that makes you sound like a robot…that’s talent! Can you get me one of those machines so I can make as much money as you do and then rap about the economy?
