Being a Redhead is a Pain

As if redheads don’t stand out enough as it is, they have yet another trait that makes them different. Redheads are more sensitive to pain compared to brunettes and blondes.
This whole redhead pain thing really started out as an urban legend in the anesthesia community saying redheads were difficult to anesthetize. Scientists found this so intriguing that they went ahead and studied it only to find out it is true. Redheads really do require more anesthesia, and by a significant amount, about twenty percent more.
The mutation is in the gene that affects hair color. In people with brown, black and blonde hair, the gene for the melanocortin-1 receptor, produces melanin. A mutation in the MC1R gene results in the production of a substance called pheomelanin which results in red hair and fair skin.
This specific gene belongs to a family of receptors that include pain receptors in the brain, and as a result, a mutation in the gene appears to influence the body’s sensitivity to pain.
Wow, that really sucks to be a redhead. The poor gingers of the world don’t have it rough enough as it is that they have to feel more pain than the rest of us? Terrible.
This is kinda mean but I find gingers a little bit funny. I guess the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, find gingers funny as well.

I find all different people funny.
It’s a fact that niggers are stupid, that kikes have big noses, that chinks are liars, and that whops are greasy.
If you look hard enough, you can find proof of all of this.
I think it’s funny to make fun of how everyone else is inferior.
Actually you have backwards…

This is not backwards, at least for me. I have fiery red hair and I require more numbing at the dentist and the epidural I received while delivering my child barely helped.
