Real World: Worst Season Yet
My prediction was correct. I predicted that this season of the Real World would be the absolute worst season yet. I didn’t even get through the entire first episode. I am sorry to say, but this most likely will be my ONLY review on the Real World D.C. I don’t think I could get through another minute of another episode. The people don’t suck THAT bad but Andrew and Ashley shouldn’t be allowed on the show and if it weren’t for the two of them, I might have given the show another shot.
I couldn’t stand Andrew from the start. From the cast photos before the show even aired I hated him. How could you not? He epitomizes the word loser. He lies about everything and doesn’t tell anyone he is bullshitting unless he is called out. DORK!
Andrew’s reason for being on The Real World is to get laid. Any guy that has to try THAT hard doesn’t deserve to get laid. The first roommate that Andrew meets is Emily. He can’t even handle talking to a girl. He chokes on his words and says he had butterflies in his stomach when he met Emily. Really? Wow…
Emily actually seems like a cool chick. She in finally living her life and making up for lost time after living, breathing and eating the bible until she was 13. The only bad thing about her is that she is clearly pigeon toed. That sucks but I think we can get over it pretty quick. After Andrew makes an idiot of himself in front of her, he literally JUMPS into the cab. He is the WORST!
Ashley and Mike meet and drive to the house together. They both realize that they are super religious and can bond over that. Ashley is a mega dork as well. I greatly dislike her. She is obsessed with Obama and even has Obama mints. I didn’t even know those existed but apparently they do.
Right off the bat Ashley and Mike get along especially with their religious views and they can be church buddies for Sundays. First impression of Mike… where are his eyebrows? He seems like a nice guy but looks SO incredibly young. He is the only bi-sexual guy in the house which is later revealed at the roommates first dinner that night.
Callie is cute, has cool hair, but doesn’t seem like she is going to bring too much to the table. Ty seems like he is going to be the coolest of them all, just as I predicted. All the girls think Ty is the hottest in the house, which is okay by him since he broke up with his girlfriend before leaving on the train to head to D.C. She wasn’t comfortable with him living with other girls. Smart girl. No one stays faithful on the Real World. We all know this.
Erika and Josh meet up and instantly click with their rock and roll backgrounds and love for music. Josh is wearing a kick-ass necklace… it is fangs (where can I get one??) They are both in relationships at home but when they arrive to the house the other roommates think they seem like a couple already. Josh says first impression of Erika is that she is his type of girl. This could definitely be trouble for their loved ones back home. I predict they hook up and both cheat on the ones left home.
Everyone picks their beds according to which president is in the room. I mean who wouldn’t want Abe Lincoln hanging above their bed? I sure as hell wouldn’t, but that’s why this cast blows. Ashley proves her loserness by saying this is her dream home. As if her obsession with Obama isn’t enough? Another reason I can’t stand Ashley is the fact that she is bothered that Callie isn’t sure where she stands in the political spectrum, Really Ashley? That matters that much to you? Get a freakin life dude!
Andrew wears these stupid ass glasses and is a complete moron. Says obnoxious things to just about everyone in the house. The first thing Andrew says to Ty is how much can u bench? Ty says “Aw that’s fucked up”. Great way to make a first impression you moron. When everyone is going to sleep later Callie finds out that dorko Andrew sleeps with a stuffed polar bear. Further proving my point of how much he sucks. Also the next morning he wears a panda hat. Really buddy? You are making it even worse for yourself. He is SUCH a loser.
The only time I smiled while watching this episode was when I laughed out loud when the moron Andrew hangs from the curtain rod to Callie’s closet and tries to do pull-ups and falls on his ass. Greatest part of the episode seeing a moron get hurt and make a fool of himself.
We all know who is attracted to each other in the house right away before they all go out to dinner the first night. Emily and Ty are all over each other and Ashley and Mike are all over each other as well. I guess that is why Ashley was so shocked to hear that Mike is bi-sexual at dinner.
The guys start talking about their numbers of girls they have slept with and that is when Mike comes out. This brings up religion where Ty and Mike get into it and stupid bitch Ashley gets involved. I really like Ty, he is definitely the most real person on the show and most mature. Regardless of any situation, people should not discuss or argue about religion it is just an endless debate.
Ty and Mike clear the air about fighting over religion and bitch Ashley listens in and then just walks on in like it’s okay. She takes part in the conversation but things don’t go so well between her and Ty. Good, I like Ty and I hate her, so lets hope something happens where she has to leave and somehow Andrew has to leave and then I will be happy to watch the show.
I am super disappointed with the location of the Real World this season and with the cast. I don’t want to watch any more episodes. I may give it one more shot because in a coming attraction for later in the season they show Andrew in a stretcher… that may be worth watching. What did you think of it? Was it as bad as I thought? I think so..

OMG!!…I agree with everything you just said. That Ashley is the BIGGEST CUNT BITCH in “REAL WORLD” history..She always wants to hear herself talk. Like Bitch get a clue. My two favorites are Ty and Callie!!!..Andrew is BORING and Mike looks DEFORMED!!..and everyone else…..LAME!!!
Yeah, I greatly dislike Ashley. I don’t think the words you used to describe her have ever come out of my mouth, but yes, I agree with you. I like Ty and Callie the best too. Andrew isn’t boring, he is just the biggest loser ever and shouldn’t be allowed to speak. I feel bad for Mike. He seems like a nice, good guy, it’s got to be hard not having any eye brows and all.
I ABSOLUTELY hate Ashley. Why are Hispanic women ALWAYS so angry–they call it “hot blooded.” You’re not hot blooded, you’re b*tches. I think she’s ugly too–take a look at her nose and mouth and teeth—ewe. Reminds me of all of the evil and mean witches from the Miami season.
I like Ty, but why do black guys have to sleep with so many people? How many people did he say he slept with…100? I wonder if Ty has any children running around out there. In my area, there are little black and half-black (fatherless) kids running all over the place. NONE of the fat, ugly, girls work and they all live off of welfare; food stamps; HUD housing. They party like they are childless teenagers. There is no end in sight. They get a 2 bedroom apartment for $168 a month; $500 in food stamps (they sell half for cash–for party money); they get $300 in cash from the state; and they get more free food from WIC and the local food banks (which they also sell for drug and party money). When they are threatened with having to get a job–THEY JUST GET PREGNANT AGAIN. It’s not just here–it’s everywhere.
Ty is right–there isn’t a God and Jesus was just a regular Arab guy who figures a way to con people, just like Jim Jones and David Koresh etc. Religion is for weak people and was made up to control the masses of poor and downtrodden people. Religion is just one huge Ponzi scheme to get your money; your vote; and to get sex. Jesus was no different than David Koresch in Waco–he just came a different time.
Wow, you are passionate about Ty! I really like Ty. He said he slept with 45 girls. I don’t think that is THAT bad… as long as there are no bastards running around. I don’t know much about the welfare stuff you talked about but it sounds terrible. I don’t think Ty is like that. He seems like a nice respectable guy. As far as religion… I don’t think that is ever anything people should discuss. Some people really take that seriously, as you saw with Mike and Ashley. I personally believe in reincarnation, but we all have our rights to believe in what we want.
LOVED TY, hated Ashley (but enjoyed disliking her all the same), LOVED ANDREW. The Andrew character adds the interesting element to the show. If everyone were as cool as Ty, it wouldn’t be that interesting, now, would it? Don’t hate, appreciate the differences that everyone brings to the table! Um, hello, isn’t that what “Real World” is about, down to the name of the show?
This new season of Real World is no different than any of the rest. Maybe you’re just sick of reality TV as a whole. To truly enjoy reality TV, you have to embrace on some level the people that you can’t stand, freaks, nerds, glbs, races, religions, beliefs, etc – that is what this country is all about afterall.
PS – Real World Hollywood was the lamest EVER in my book.
You know Addie, I never thought about it like that. If everyone were as cool as Ty, no it wouldn’t be as interesting. You have a good point there. I think I am just sick of reality TV when the people are younger than me. Maybe it is just making me feel old! As far as Andrew, I think he is super annoying and ridiculous, but if he weren’t there, you’re right it wouldn’t be the same. I am glad someone else hates Ashley like I do!

The entire cast seems extremely boring, and I don’t think anything exciting will be happening this entire season
Andrew is so annoying.. He ruined his chances with the blond chick.. then he pretended to get all mad cuz he couldnt score with the girl he brought home.. hes just awkward, annoying, and a big liar.. trust me, hes definitely a virgin

The religious girl and the gay guy are stupid.. i dont even know where to start with that duo.. they should at least hook up and make the show a little less boring
That musician guy is a tool.. hes like a nerd trying to be cool.. and the way he talks, and little comments he makes, you know hes got a small penis.. he seems very insecure
either way, who did the casting for this show? cuz they did a terrible job.. this show will be a flop, I gave it a fair chance and will not be watching another episode.. These kids need to drink more, go clubbing more, hook up with more people, and stick to the real world script that has made real world cancun and other past seasons a success
haha you’re more pessimistic about the show than I am. I like Josh the musician guy, I think he’s a cool laid back dude, doesn’t cause drama. I think that’s why he is barely shown.
I think Ashley is the worst character I have ever seen in my life. Wow the drama and the bullshit. Watched the episode tonight where she was “pushed” by andrew.. wow. I can barely keep watching this show because of ashley. What a fake, sympathy grabbing 2 year old. Like can she take herself seriously? I don’t feel safe around andrew blah blah. By the way andrew makes this season. Hilarious. I need a Hate Ashley group or something to form. She needs therapy and it’s pathetic that it bothers me this much. Sad.
This season is by far the worst season of Real World. I think the casting director dropped the ball big time. DC is a great city and I was excited when I heard this is where they would be. The cast is just lame.
There is nothing appealing about this cast. I really dont know what exactly to say about them. They will not be remembered past this season and I am happy about that. I just hope that they do not show back up at some challenge. I really would be happy to never see these people again.
The Real World seems to be on a downhill for the past few seasons. Aside from the poor choices of casts I tried to figure what else is not working for the show. The only thing I could conclude is the show does not work with 8 people as well as it does with 7 people. The dynamic just becomes different. As someone mentioned just stick to the Real World “script.”
That being said this season is almost unbearable. Ashley is a drama queen and craves attention. She is easily the worst. Andrew can be a bit much but at least he is just there to kick it. He doesnt need to drop heavy issues on everyone and is just trying to get a piece. Sure he may be a bit of a loser, but if he can use being on the Real World to help his game more power to him.
Ty has become a bitch over Emily. Their relationship or lack of is just boring and annoying. Mike is whatever, I dont like or hate him. He is just not interesting and needs to get some brows. The other two “rockers” are irrelevant and do nothing for the show. They have horrible personalities and I can not even remember their names and I just got done watching the show.
Calie is ok, just like Mike I dont like her or hate her. She is prob one of the ones I might not mind seeing on a challenge. Bottom line this season sucks! Why cant the producers cast better people.
I have a suggestion for future castings. Just cast regular people. Stop the pre-screening and personality tests because they obviously dont work. Stop trying to cast people with all of these deep rooted issues that you are hoping will come out. Trust me everyone has issues and when you throw them into a house with “7″ people and mix a little booze you will have your show.
Try casting some people that are just out to have a good time that are not trying to launch their music, acting, photo, journalist, etc. career and focus on the Real World. Get back to your roots MTV, this season sucks!
yeah! agreed. Pick regular people! Hell, pick me. I’ll get loaded every night and keep things awesome. Instead of having ashley get retarted on every other character one by one. Dont pick these people with these overbearing personal issues that probably aren’t even real issues. They just work themselves up for years until they convince themselves that they have had it rough and need sympathy to survive.
@Peter- I totally agree. I wish I didn’t care so much and get SO angry at Ashley. It shouldn’t matter to me, but I despise her! She is the worst and she sucks at life. She causes drama constantly. I could totally make the show great without have underlying issues, as I’m sure you would as well. Just give me some drinks and some good looking guys and girls and let the drama roll! Hopefully Ashley leaves, ugh GO AWAY!
@Foxy- You know, I never thought about the whole thing where it is now 8 people instead of 7. That definitely has something to do with it! For sure! When there is an even number of people, people pair off. When there’s an odd number it definitely creates drama because someone is ALWAYS left out. This season is definitely unbearable. I have a difficult time even watching but since I got this far into the season, I’m not giving up now.
I also agree about Andrew not being so bad. Maybe being on the show will get him laid. He is definitely better than Ashley. When I saw the previews for this episode I really thought he was scary but of course Ashley blew things out of proportion and acted like a moron.

Ashley’s voice drives me CRAZY! It sounds so annoying. The best way for me to describe it is that it sounds very raspy. It’s almost like nails on a chalkboard or something along those lines. It gets worse when she’s on the verge of having a crying whining fit (when is she not on the verge of a breakdown anyhow?). I wonder if anyone else is as put off by this as me.
I agree that Mike’s eyebrows are overplucked! His eyebrows look like my puppy’s eyebrows, she has two little brown peanut shaped spots over her eyes.
Emily is by far my favorite character on the show because of her free spirited attitude. She’s a very strong woman and I have so much respect for her.
Callie is gorgeous; I love her hair!
I don’t like Josh because he cheated on his gf and lied about it. He’s a complete scumbag. They barely show him on the episodes.
Andrew tries too hard. He seems like the kid that got pushed into the lockers in school. He’s also a scumbag bc he just wants to use girls to get laid.

@heather- Wow, you have me laughing pretty hard about Andrew getting thrown into lockers. As soon as I read it, I pictured it. Right on point! I love Callie’s hair and she is very cute. Erika and Josh definitely suck and bring nothing to the table. I can’t stand Ashley, and YES her voice sucks. Everything about the girl SUCKS.
@Heather, I agree with most fo what you say, with th exception of the Emily Liking.. I realy don’t like her either, she seems like she’s living in denial little bit. Like she ays she doesn’tneed a man or anyone for that matter, but than unknowingly brings Ty upon herself. She just seems like she sure needs Ty as much as he needs her right now. Whether she admits it or not. One of the other main reasons I may not like Emily is because she tends to agree and sympathize with Ashley far too much for my liking haha.
My thoughts on Andrew are little different, Yes he’s ridiculous and seems to try way too hard bt I think that’s more to simply have fun o TV. Like it’s clearly premeditated and he knows he’s ridiculous and creepy but I thin he’s just having fun with it. Which is lot more than some of the others are doing right?
@Peter- Emily is DEFINITELY living in denial. She gives all the other girls shit for investing their feelings in relationships. Like when Callie called that a-hole she used to hook up with, she went nuts. It’s none of her business. She is manly too. It’s gross. As far as Andrew, I have a lot more respect for him since the last episode aired because he really pushed Ashley’s buttons. He went up quite a few points in my book!

I agree with everyone. This cast is by far the worst. However I loved seeing Andrew get pushed off of the banister. Only way it possibley could have been better if maybe it was much higher and had a rod iron spiked fence at the bottom and broken glass on the ground. Yea that would have been great!

Emily is my favorite. its no diff then any other season okay. the house is beautiful. and wats wrong with saying its your dream house. shoot i bet you would say that if you lived in a house like that too. and Obama is amazing. i love this whole cast. in my book Hollywood and Brooklyn were the worst. i was actually looking at the ratings of the previous seasons and DC is number 2 in top rating through 2000-2010 and REAL world Sydney beats it. but you tottaly contradicted yourself Cancun is in the 4th worst. so dc was more succesfull then the ones you tough. and if you looked more at the show and not just the first one you would like it. exactly i just outsmarted you and prooved you wrong.(: bye bye HATERSS(:<3 XOXO.
