Send Me On My Way

The newest season of American Idol premiered last night. We had the stunning Victoria Beckham on as a guest judge. I love her, ever since the Spice Girls! She is so beautiful to look at, it is sickening!
I love watching the beginning episodes the most because there are the most ridiculous people ever! Some of them are so terrible it is pathetic that they think they are good. The funniest one was the first girl singing “Pocketfull of Sunshine”. Like really honey? Really? You think you have talent? My God!! She was hilarious to watch. I did hit pause and call my sister into my room, but she had seen it too. Wow! The Asian guy was funny too, you couldn’t even understand him. Also, the Michael Jackson wannabe, Roberto, who sang like a 3 year old and dressed like Latoya Jackson, yet had a beard… that was just hilarious.
There were four contestants that completely blew me away. I really hope they make it to the actual show.
Ashley Rodriguez blew me away. She was gorgeous with a contagious smile and did a hell of a job on singing Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You”. Not many people can sound good singing an Alicia Keys song, but this girl blew me away, as well as the judges. I see her going really far. She has that confidence, great style, she’s pretty and she has an amazing voice.
Tyler Grady looked like he stepped off the set of That 70′s Show, but he too blew me away. Aside from his crazy hair, ginormous smile, AND two shattered wrists from falling out of a tree… he sang “Let’s Get It On” pretty damn good! He is a drummer who now wants to be the front man. His voice was pretty soulful and there were a few notes off but overall he did a great job and is through to Hollywood. I am rooting for him hardcore. With some hair, makeup, and styling he can go up about 5 points!
Katie Stevens at just 16 years old, was unreal. Katie’s grandma has Alzheimer’s disease, and Katie sings to her which the grandma LOVES. She wants to succeed before her grandma can’t remember anymore. I can relate to Katie, but my grandma already doesn’t remember. I really hope she goes far and I pray that her grandma is able to be there to see her through it. She sang a not too easy song, “At Last”, and did an amazing job where I had chills all through my body. Go Katie!!
Justin Williams, the cancer survivor, had me melting. He was so sexy and sang SO WELL. He sang Michael Buble’s “Feelin’ Good”, he crooned just like the song was HIS to sing. I think Michael Buble is really sexy, and when someone can sing like, whoa! I love Justin Williams and I hope he goes far in this!
I was really pleased to hear one of my favorite bands Rusted Root playing in the background their song “Send Me On My Way”. If you don’t know the band, you probably didn’t understand the lyrics that were being sang. They are unbelievable. I saw them live a few months ago and they put on the best show I’ve ever seen. I actually had the pleasure of meeting the lead singer, Michael Glabicki, after the show he was just walking around downtown Ft. Lauderdale. He was as nice as can be and didn’t hesitate for a second when I went up and asked him for a picture with him. If you don’t know of them, please look them up!

Katie Stevens is who I am rooting for…………….I guess I am partial to the whole Grandma thing…….and of course her great voice for a 16 year old. Go Katie!
Yeah Katie really was great. I just don’t see her having the style or the confidence. I will most likely be proven wrong, which I hope. She just seems like another David Archuletta. He had an unbelievable voice but was so young. He was sort of a little nerd, I don’t think that’s the case with Katie.
