Entertainment Weekly had an interview with Ke$ha and she sounded very different than other young artists, so I had to read more about her and had to write about it.  From her interviews we know that her rebellious image is not just an act.  She is really big on karma and glitter.  She isn’t mad at all for not getting paid for singing in Flo Rida’s hit “Right Round”.  She feels that she paid her dues and what goes around comes around.

They even replaced her in the video, I’m sorry but that is mega messed up!  Despite being screwed over by Flo Rida, it looks like good karma is coming around for the new breakout star.  She is all over the place and everyone seems to love her!

On the glitter around her right eye:

If I smear glitter on my face, you don’t have a choice—you will be more attracted to me. It’s part of our brand makeup. So anyway, then I started thinking, why just do my eyes? Why not my entire body? And at the end of my shows why don’t I put a backpack on that’s like a hand-held cannon and blast glitter at people? So not only do I look attractive, but so does everybody who’s dancing? It’s kind of like become my thing.

I think her attitude is pretty funny and sarcastic.  So what if she has glitter as part of her signature look?  I dig it.

On her personal style:

I do have a stylist who helps me shop, because I don’t have time to shop. But I’ll be like, I want leopard pants. And she gets me these. I’m just like this forever. Go through my high school yearbooks—I always looked like a f—ing weirdo. So you know, and I made my own purple velvet pants, living in Brentwood, which is like the Bible Belt. And no one would talk to me in middle school. My hair was purple. I got sent to the principal’s office in 8th grade. Like, 9th grade, stole my mom’s minivan, drove to Atlanta, snuck into Radiohead, front row.

Wow that rebellious in 9th grade??  She definitely wins some points for having good taste in music.  Radiohead rules.

On whether there is nefarious video out there that could surface in the future:

Oh, sex? No. I’m so not a slut. No. No, no, no. No sex tapes. I mean, there might be a tape of me kicking a parking meter, but like…I just get stupid. A lot of people, and you can attest to this now since we’ve hung out, but it’s not me being messed up, I kind of just always act like this. People always think I’m drunk or messed up. I’m not. I just am a little bit out of my mind.

Not drunk or messed up? Just a bit out of her mind… for now…  Lets hope she doesn’t turn out like all the other ones who go in and out of rehab like it’s their job.

On whether she’s embracing the pop-star trend of bisexuality:

I’m sure you gathered this by now: I just do what I want. Have I made out with chicks? Hell yeah. Did I think it was awesome? Hell yeah. I wouldn’t call myself bi. Like, if I didn’t eat meat for a week, it doesn’t make me a vegetarian. So I like people, and that’s just it. I like people.

You like kissing girls, but you’re not bi?  Hopefully you won’t be next in line to date La Lohan or Samantha Ronson.  We’ll see how long that lasts with all the partying that comes with the music industry and performing.

When asked if she had any celebrity crushes by Star Magazine:

David Spade is a megababe. But my ultimate celebrity crush is the fat guy from The Hangover (Zach Galifianakis). Can someone hook me up with him?

That is funny as hell. I love this girl’s wit and sarcasm.

Her goal for the upcoming year:

I want to cover the world in glitter, one country at a time!

After watching this performance of Party At A Rich Dude’s House, I do appreciate her music, humor, and her strange infatuation with glitter just a little bit more.  Her songs and lyrics are funnier than expected.

Her interview with Ryan Seacrest was pretty funny.  She is very different.  She has a problem with messing with her hair though.  She is definitely the kind of girl who does whatever she wants and does not give a fuck.  She likes fat guys and guys with mullets… Joe Dirt is for real her fantasy.  She is so incredibly sarcastic that you really don’t know when she’s serious or not.  Overall Ke$ha is a funny chick and I can’t wait to see what else is in store with her.  I’d like to go out and have a few drinks with this chick for sure.
