Lady Gaga’s Costume Sketches For Concert Tour

lady-gaga-costume sketches

I think Lady Gaga rules.  She is so out there with her fashion sense and her music is awesome.  The lyrics, the beats, everything about it is great. I also love how since day one, her fashion has been weird, feisty, fierce, unique and feminine all in one. She hasn’t changed it at all and has really stayed true to herself. It takes a woman with a LOT of confidence to wear and actually pull off the clothing that she wears. She isn’t a poser at all like a lot of other artists out there.

After the rave reviews Lady Gaga received for the stellar Armani Prive dress she wore to this year’s Grammys, the singer is teaming up with Giorgio Armani once again, this time for her Monster Ball concert tour.

Through a release, Armani says, “We hear Lady Gaga’s music everywhere we go, it is like a soundtrack of our times. In addition to her formidable songwriting skills, she is a modern fashion phenomenon.” From a scintillating one-piece with a lobster-like effect on one sleeve to a sparkly cerulean body suit with exaggerated shoulders, each costume balances Armani’s sharp tailoring with Gaga’s dramatic flair.

I agree that her music is like a soundtrack of our times. I’m sure we can all relate to her songs whether we want to or not. When she first came out, I remember my sister saw her when she opened for New Kids On The Block and thought she was a joke. After she started singing she was amazing and since then I am a huge fan. I love her music and I see her sticking around for a long long time. Not only in the music industry but in the fashion industry as well.  I am always excited to see what she is going to be wearing!  Glad we got a sneak peak!

Guy In Trailer Park Shot His Girlfriend And Then Killed Himself

Published by under Off the Press

PineyFlats kathy barnett shot by boyfriend

48-year-old Terry Stonecipher told police that he was cleaning his gun when he accidentally shot his girlfriend, 58-year-old Kathy Barnett.  Riiiight… she was found laying on the ground of their mobile home with gunshot wounds to the head and the abdomen.  Yeah that seems like an accident.  What a dummy.

Stonecipher apparently shot himself a short time after deputies backed away from his mobile home and after he stopped talking to them by cell phone.

Anderson said officers tried to talk Stonecipher into putting down the gun and leaving the mobile home, but those negotiations stalled. Then there was a gunshot and officers had no further communication with Stonecipher.

If he had “accidentally” shot his girlfriend he wouldn’t of shot himself. I don’t understand what goes through people’s minds when they murder someone. I guess it is a completely different type of person than me or almost anyone for that matter. To be able to inflict SUCH pain upon someone is SICK.

Barnett was transported to Johnson City Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.

“Remarkably, she’s doing very well,” Anderson said about four hours after the shooting.

“She’s doing well, talking, so that’s good.”

Anderson said he thinks Barnett likely would have died if the first officers on scene had not acted as quickly as they did to get her out of the mobile home.

Thank God she is alive. Looks like we will eventually hear the real story, how it wasn’t an accident I am assuming. Glad that asshole shot himself and glad she is okay.

A Killer Whale Lived Up To His Name

SeaWorld Death dawn brancheau killed by killer whale telly

In the Orlando SeaWorld, a 30-year-old killer whale actually lived up to its name on Wednesday February 24, 2010, by drowning a trainer in front of horrified onlookers.

Police said 40-year-old Dawn Brancheau slipped and fell into his pool, but a witness said the orca rose up from the water and grabbed her by the waist and shook her.

The 30-year-old, 5-ton marine mammal – the largest killer whale in captivity – has killed before: He drowned a biology student in 1991 and a naked, dead gatecrasher was found draped on his back in 1999.

The previous incidents were not attacks but misguided attempts by the otherwise docile whale to play, experts said.

But Tilikum, nicknamed Telly, is getting old and he may be getting cranky. Florida park guest Victoria Biniak told WKMG-TV that Brancheau was outlining the upcoming show to tourists when the huge orca – who is not one of the whales that trainers get in the water with – suddenly loomed from the water.

“Telly took off really fast in the tank, and he came back, shot up in the air, grabbed the trainer by the waist and started thrashing (her) around,” Biniak said. “It was violent.”

Paramedics were unable to revive the veteran trainer, who was pronounced dead at the scene at about 2 p.m. Brancheau had wanted to do nothing but work at SeaWorld since visiting at age 9.

This story is incredibly traumatizing.  I am terrified of the ocean and ginormous animals such as whales… now my fear is even worse.  This poor girl… at least she died doing what she loved, but her life ended too soon.  I feel horrible for her family and her fellow co-workers.  I’d definitely get rid of Telly A.S.A.P.

Top 12 Guys On American Idol… They Saved The Best For Last

michael lynche ryan seacrest tim urban american idol

Last night on American Idol were the top 12 guys performances. On a side-note, in the above picture Ryan Seacrest is in a Michael Lynche and Tim Urban sandwich. Ryan is a little dude, but next to Lynche he is pocket sized. Thought it was funny and HAD to put a picture of them!
As far as the performances goes, there were a few that I loved and of course a few that bombed. I didn’t even post a couple because they weren’t memorable enough for me. My two favorite guys as of now are Casey James, who Kara is in love with, and Lee Dewyze.

Check out some great performances if you missed any after the jump.

Two Guys That Turned Down Worthington’s Role in Avatar

Published by under Entertainment

mattdamonavatarjakegyllenhaalavatarized

I love the topic of “what could have been.”  It’s very common in Hollywood and sometimes it blows your mind when you find out who could have played certain roles.  The latest comes from Avatar.

The LA Times is now shedding some light on the Jake Sullys that could have been: Matt Damon and Jake Gyllenhaal. Cameron tells the LA Times that he doesn’t think the two actors turning down the role had anything to do with the atypical working conditions, rather that he wasn’t too enthusiastic about recruiting them for a trip to Pandora.

I guess it might be understandable that a Matt Damon would turn down this role. He’s one of the biggest actors out there and might not want to take a risk. But Jakey Poo! What are you doing stud? Prince of Persia? OK great, you got all jacked for us but really? You turned down Avatar?

See you in Persiaville and “never being as big as you should be ville.” Oh well. What could have been….

Diarrhea Nightmare Vessel… Exactly How It Sounds…

Published by under Off the Press

mercury-celebrity-cruises diarrhea nightmare vessel

We have all heard of people getting sick on cruise ships in the past but this story is just horrible and terrifying. I would not want to be caught on that cruise ship!

When gastrointestinal illness hits a cruise ship, there’s nowhere to run or hide, as nearly 450 passengers and crewmembers aboard the Celebrity Cruises ship Mercury have discovered. Celebrity Cruises says they they’re still investigating what caused the outbreak, but the symptoms include “upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea,” according to their spokeswoman.

That does not sound like a fun cruise to me. The cruise line is going to compensate the sick travelers for missing out on some of the cruise. That would make me feel better if I was vomiting and had the runs… not! That sounds like a nightmare to me.

Mother Got Dead Son’s Sperm

Nikolaus_Evans_Missy_Evans_post mortem sperm

Missy Evans, a mother of a murdered son hopes to create life after death with her son’s sperm.  Nikolas Evans was 21 years old when he was murdered.  Now his mother considers surrogates to birth her grandchild.

Returning from a night of drinking, Nikolas and a friend were attacked on their way to catch a bus ride home. The fatal blow came when the slight son she called “Pea” was violently knocked sideways by an assailant and struck his temple on the ground.
Nikolas, initially left in the middle of the road, died 10 days later of a subdural hematoma.
“His brain never stopped swelling,” said his mother, 43-year-old Missy Evans of Bedford, Texas. “I sat at a picnic table and bawled for an hour. I never cried so hard. I talk to him four times a day and see him twice a week and now nothing. I couldn’t lose him. It was too important.”
But now his mother is hoping for a legacy — a grandchild culled from her son’s sperm after his death on April 5, 2009. She has heard from hundreds of women who have offered to be egg donors or surrogate mothers for her future grandchild.

[via ABC News]

This is a devastating story but at the same time it is a little creepy to me.  It could be creepier if she was going to carry the child herself.  I’m sure the thought has crossed her mind.

At least from the article, we know he wanted to be a father.  If he hadn’t then I think it would be pretty messed up.  Young people don’t normally have wills written but at least she knows he did one day want to be a dad.  She also described her son as an old soul.  Maybe he would want her to do what she wants with his remains.

Ugh, Paula Abdul Is Coming Back To Haunt Us

Published by under Entertainment,Off the Press

paula-abdul oprah winfrey network

Straight up now tell me, do you really wanna see Paula Abdul on her own TV show? Former American idol judge, Paula Abdul, is following in the footsteps of talk show queen Oprah. She is now going to have her own television series. She left her last job as a judge on American Idol in August 2009 following an alleged pay dispute. We all know Ellen DeGeneres has replaced her. Weird, but okay.
Paula will be taping a one-hour pilot episode for Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Paula’s new show is going to be similar to Oprah’s in the fact that she is going to have celebrity guests and people telling inspirational stories. Really? We need another one of those talk show? Didn’t Tyra Banks try that?

In the meantime, Paula continues to fuel rumors that she is going to rejoin American Idol colleague Simon Cowell as a panelist on the U.S. version of his British talent show The X Factor. I don’t see that happening, don’t they hate each other? Also, who wants to see her clap like a seal again?

Last week, Abdul told reporters:

“I’m going back to my roots and doing a TV show that has something to do with my roots. I knew that I would not be able to say certain things. I want to be able to say everything right now, but I can’t.”

But Abdul insists she can handle more than one TV spot. She tells the National Enquirer, “If Ellen DeGeneres can do it…so can I!”

Right, good comparison Paula. You and Ellen are like night and day.

The Crazies… That’s Really The Title?

The Crazies will be out for all of us to see on February 26th, 2010.  When I first saw a preview for this movie I really thought that the title was a joke.  They couldn’t have come up with something better?  Or were they trying to have a terrible title to get attention.

The movie, like ALL other scary movies of our generation is based on a classic by the same name by George Ramero back in 1973.

I like screwed up movies and this one looks good to me, similar to a lot of the others out there, but I will probably see it.  If it doesn’t scare me then it will make me laugh, either way it’s a win win.  Anyway, if the title was on purpose they did a good job, sure got my attention.

The Beatles Rocked Out on American Idol

american idol season 9 top 24

Last night on American Idol, it was the top twelve girl’s turns to sing.  A few girls rocked out to the Beatles, while some took the easy way out.  Some annoyed Simon, and some annoyed me.  I do think this season’s contestants are very talented but I can see how a few of them can get annoying.

At first I didn’t get why Ellen was on the show but at the same time she represents us, the people who actually watch the show and don’t know THAT much about singing.  So I guess it is a good judge to have since she doesn’t have that much experience.

Videos and such after the jump.
