Why Was Farrah Fawcett Left out of the Oscars?

I hadn’t realized it. And I’m sure most of the people watching hadn’t realized it. But amongst those deceased who were honored at this year’s Oscars there was one glaring omission.
Ryan O’Neal is drafting a letter to the members of the Academy to complain about the fact his longtime lover Farrah Fawcett was omitted from the Oscars In Memoriam tribute to dead stars.
Oscars bosses are refusing to accept the omission was “an oversight,” insisting not every deceased star makes the list for the tribute.
Refusing to say it was an oversight? Well that’s even worse for O’Neal to stomach. I would think that Fawcett merited a mention no? After all she was one of the original Angels and considered to be one of the hottest women of the late 70s and early 80s.
This isn’t a knock on other deceased actors who have been honored at the Oscars but there have been way less famous and influential people mentioned in the past. I think O’Neal has a good point and I too would be curious to know about the omission.

I agree that Farrah should have appeared in the Memorial Tribute for 2009. It was so bad that when she actually died she was bumped out by Michael Jackson. Certainly she had fame and should have been in the tribute. I did notice that the tribute this year was alot shorter than in the past ……..I even thought to myself alot less famous people died……..guess not!
