Lil Wayne has finally started his one year sentence in prison. I didn’t think it was ever going to happen. I thought it would be postponed once again. But no, he went to jail Monday March 8, 2010.

He was led out of the hearing in handcuffs and taken to New York’s Rikers Island jail complex.

Lil Wayne, 27, could be released in eight months with good behaviour.

He pleaded guilty in October to charges arising from a 2007 arrest when a gun was found on his tour bus after a concert in Manhattan.

‘He knew what he had to do, and he’s doing it,’ his laywer Stacey Richman tells the Associated Press.

Sentencing had already been postponed twice.

The first time, Lil Wayne requested a delay so he could have surgery on his teeth.

And then a fire broke out at the court where he was due to appear last week.

I love how it was delayed the first time because of his teeth surgery. Which we all know was to take off his gold, platinum and diamonds so he doesn’t get killed for them in jail. Hopefully he will be released early, as long as he behaves. Oh will we miss him…
