I love Miley Cyrus.  She is so freakin’ cute, and so incredibly talented.  She’s performing tonight on American Idol and I can’t wait to see that.  I thought she did a great job in mentoring the Idol contestants last night.  She is young and can relate to them, and she is really current and talented.

I am still rooting for Lee Dewyze.  He sang, The Letter by The Box Tops. The only thing that Miley said bad about him was that he was lacking stage presence.  I disagree, I think he’s sexy and I think he made the oldie his own.  I thought he started off the show with a bang, but Simon thought it was corny.

More of the idols and videos of their performances after the jump.

Crystal Bowersox rules, as usual.  She is always amazing.  She sang, Me and Bobby McGee by the one and only Janis Joplin.  With this song choice she really let herself go and was totally herself on stage.  She was great, and told the judges that she has big plans for next week.  I don’t think she has anything to worry about.

Simon said he wouldn’t change a thing, and we all know that Simon is the only one of the judges who really matters.  He compared her to Pink, saying that she sang a good version of the song, but Crystal was just as good… wow, what a compliment!  She keeps getting better every week.  She took a song last night, and nailed it.

Siobhan Magnus sang Superstition by Stevie Wonder.  Wow, that girl can sing.  She belts that shit out and is so fearless.  Miley thinks she has ‘swagger’ in her voice.  I agree, her voice is really cool and unique.  I’d definitely listen to her album when it comes out!

Simon thinks there is going to be a split on this one that half of the people will like it and half won’t.  He said she always does the singing with the screaming in the end.  Maybe she should try reversing it to change it up.  Maybe start with the screaming and end with normal singing.  He wants her to start pushing herself to find better songs.  I loved her performance, and I love the screaming at the end!  Rock on Siobhan!!

Andrew Garcia is fading away each week.  He sang Marvin Gaye’s Heard it Through The Grapevine.  The judges weren’t impressed and neither was I.  The song didn’t give him enough rang to show his true talent.  He isn’t making smart song choices anymore and I think he is in trouble this week!

Good ole Casey James is a fan of Miley’s dad.  How cute.  He sang Power of Love by Huey Lewis and The News, while playing his guitar.  I didn’t LOVE the performance but he was sexy as usual.  Ellen thought it was the best local of the night.  Because Ellen’s opinion even matters…

Didi Benami sang the Linda Ronstadt hit You’re No Good.  I absolutely LOVED her outfit, that dress ruled.  Anyone know where I can buy it??  I love her and her tone, more than any of the other girls, she stands out to me.  Kara thought she was playing a character… I say, shut up, Kara.  Simon said there was an irony screeching out “you’re no good, you’re no good, you’re no good”.  I guess I wouldn’t sing that song unless you knew you were the top of the contestants.  He thought it was like a bad part of a musical and that it didn’t sound like her.  I loved it, but I love Didi every week.  I loved the dress more than her performance though, if that says anything.
