Chaz Bono Doesn’t Want To Be A Shim Any Longer… Now He Wants To Be A Him
Chaz Bono is taking another step in his gender transition.
TMZ has learned Chaz filed an application last week at L.A. County Superior Court to change his name from his female birth name Chastity Sun Bono — to Chaz Bono.
As we first reported, Chaz began the gender transition process in 2009.
Bono Family Fun Fact: Cherilyn Sarkisian Bono Allman legally changed her name to just Cher in 1979.
I don’t understand the name change. If you’re a celebrity, everyone already knows your name. AND you already go by “Chaz” so what does it matter if it is legal or not. I do wonder, if you change your gender to male from female, can you get married to a woman? Or is that still considered gay marriage?
I guess changing your name to a four letter name starting with “Ch” runs in the family.

Hey ignorant comment above …. why the hell would a male want his legal name to still read a female name and a female pronoun on all his legal docs….. it’s called HIS IDENTITY. Why don’t we place the wrong name and gender on your legal docs and u walk around with them like that for 40 years and see how you feel!! Don’t ask stupid questions man, it’s common sense! And he’s not gay, so once he is legit male on his docs, he can get married as any other normal straight male can to a female. It’s really not that complicated.
