Great Workout Enhancer… In Your Fridge!

Instead of spending a ton of money on those protein drinks or those energy drinks post workout… just reach into your fridge for some non-fat milk. If the only time you drink milk is in your morning coffee, it’s time to change that.
In a recent study, women who downed two glasses of the fat-free version after strength-training had greater increases in lean muscle mass after 12 weeks than exercisers who consumed a low-protein, high-carb drink. “The unique proteins in milk- casein and whey- combined with nutrients like vitamin D and calcium help repair and strengthen muscles,” says lead study author Stuart Phillips, Ph.D.
“And unlike other protein sources, it rehydrates you post-workout.”
Non-fat milk is just under 90 calories a cup, so it has a lot less calories than most sports drink, and as a result, it will be a smarter choice to your waistline.
