Scientists Say Girls Should Really Wait Until They Are 21 To Drink

I always hated the age to be legal to drink. Always worrying in college that I was going to get busted for under age drinking. When making the law, did they know that drinking in teen women can actually cause harm to the twins our breasts? And not just to our liver?
I guess little Emma Watson didn’t get the memo…
A new study finds young women who drink alcohol may put themselves at higher risk of developing benign breast disease, which is a known risk factor for cancer.
Scientists found these women were more likely to have irregular cysts, breast discomfort and itching years later. That can result in lumps that in some instances turn cancerous.
Scientists say teen girls would be wise to totally avoid alcohol at least until they are of legal drinking age.
Scientists speculate that alcohol’s effect on estrogen could promote breast tissue growth.
Kind of wish I had read this before I started drinking ten years ago… Always nice to learn something new every day though.
