Sarah Silverman is known for making fun of people on stage.  Well, one thing she will not joke about it fat women.  She thinks that they already receive enough criticism.  She is right.  Being called fat is one of the worst things you can ever say to a woman.  I can’t imagine being fat and being called out at a comedy show for being fat.  That just sounds like a total nightmare and it’s nice to know that Sarah recognizes that.

She tells Larry King, “I guess if there is anything I wouldn’t talk about… fat jokes about women.

“That always bums me out because I feel like we live in a country where fat women – at least in white America – don’t deserve love. And I don’t think that’s true for men. You see every sitcom star is like a fat guy with some gorgeous wife.

“But we live in a country that really feels that way. And that just makes me sad to make a joke of it or to make light of it. It tends to be more mean-spirited.”

It is definitely more accepted for guys to be fat than girls.  I agree with Sarah in the fact that on TV there are tons of fat dudes with beautiful wives.  There are never any fat women with hot husbands… what’s up with that?  America is full of obesity and I wish it wasn’t, but it is and it is something that we are going to have to live with.
