On Jessica Simpson’s Price of Beauty tonight (4/26/2010) on VH1, we will meet Angela.  She has had over 40 plastic surgery procedures done (42 to be exact).  Apparently, in Brazil, everyone gets plastic surgery.  It doesn’t matter if you are poor or rich, you go under the knife.  Brazil has more plastic surgeons than all of Europe.  Is that why they show off their bodies so much?  The butt is the most popular thing to have worked on in Brazil.

In the video you see that the women bleach their body hair instead of shaving/waxing.  I find that weird since they are so big on such teeny bikinis and having Brazilian waxing.  Also, why spend all that money on plastic surgery if you’re going to ruin it with glistening hair on your body?

They think the blonde hair is a good thing and is a “golden shower”.  How ridiculous is that!

On the show, we also see another woman who lives in a poverty neighborhood with her daughter.  She put getting breast implants above providing a safe home and food on the table for her daughter.  That is extremely selfish to me, I don’t understand it.  Jessica Simpson didn’t relate either.  One would think that your child’s needs are put ahead of your own, let alone, getting fake boobs.

At first, I wasn’t so sure about this show.  But, I have really grown to love it.  It is crazy how much other countries differ in so many ways on their view of beauty.  In Brazil, they will tell you they had plastic surgery, and are proud of it.  In America, people will lie, lie, lie, to hide it.
