Caressa Cameron of Virginia was crowned 2010 Miss America last night at The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.  She is a 22-year-old broadcast journalism student at Virginia Commonwealth University.  Now her life has changed forever, hopefully for the good.

The 5′4″-tall beauty wowed judges by belting out Beyoncé’s “Listen” from the film Dreamgirls and by telling kids to turn off the TV and to get outside and exercise during the interview segment of the competition.

“We need to get our kids back outside, playing with sticks in the street like I did when I was little,” Cameron told judges after host Mario Lopez asked her a question about physical fitness and childhood obesity.

Miss America 2009 Katie Stam gave up her crown to Cameron with no problem but then tried to steal the spotlight back by showing off a new piece of jewelry… her engagement ring. Good for her, but RUDE! Didn’t she get enough attention when her fiance proposed the night before in front of over 600 people during a fundraiser gala?

Let’s hope Cameron doesn’t turn out like the former disgraced Miss Teen USA, Kari Ann Peniche, who posed in Playboy, was engaged to Aaron Carter for like a week, and is now on Celebrity Rehab for speed after getting kicked off Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew.
